During this runup to Christmas, I have received way too many emails with
“Happy Holidays” in the subject or within the content of the email.
After writing back to the sender asking why they did this, all said “to be politicaly correct.
I want to ask you this question, What does celebrating the birth of Christ have to do with
politics? Those who believe in a God are the majority. Why “cater” to the minority?
If you are writing the email you want it to be comming from YOU! If you believe in God, SAY SO! I’m not saying you should push your beliefs on anyone, that would be wrong. What I’m saying is to be yourself and not “hide” behind something you do not believe!! Remember, your email is to tell your subscribers who you are and NOT who you think they want you to be!!
I just read this FANTASTIC post by Joel Comm on the subject of Christmas. Here is an excerpt from the post at Joels Top Ten Christmas Favorites;
#6 – Saying “Merry Christmas” to people
Happy Holidays. Pffft. How lame.
Being Jewish, I’ve nothing against Hanukkah. The Festival of Lights is a real celebration of a genuine miracle. Admittedly, I know nothing about Kwanzaa, but I’m sure it is significant to those who celebrate it.
But Christmas is Christmas. We all know why we decorate and have parties this time of year. We know why we buy lots of presents and tell stories of snowmen, reindeer and a fat guy who invades our homes via the chimney. So why the political correctness?
It’s because of the very vocal minority who claim to be “offended” by Christmas. They have influenced political leaders and corporations to make changes in policy so as to keep the peace amongst those who don’t believe as the majority do.
I won’t wish anyone a Happy Holidays. If it’s Hanukkah, I’ll wish those people a Happy Hanukkah. If I meet someone who celebrates Kwanzaa, I’ll give them a Festive Kwanzaa (or whatever it is they say).
But if it is Christmas, you are going to get a MERRY CHRISTMAS from me.
I will not minimize the holiday by calling it by another name. And even when they desperately try to dumb it down by making it more about the fictional Santa Claus character and less about the baby Jesus, I’ll still say Merry Christmas and know that no human being on the face of the earth can ever steal away it’s meaning with phrases, commercialism or political correctness.
I think you will like reading the entire post by Joel.

This is sort of funny but, NOT!! My inbox needed a resuscitator after all the emails today about Mike Filsaimes new launch, The 7 Figure Code!!
Although I had prelaunch info, I still did not join the prelaunch list. Why? I really can’t tell you although I expected the usual from Mike with about 10 upsells/down sells, continuity, etc…
Mike didn’t do that this time for some reason. From what I understand there is 1, count it, 1 upsell which you can take or decline. It’s up to you. There is no forced continuity of any type as far as I have been able to ascertain. You pay the shipping only for the DVD’s or decline that also if you wish.
The reason I’m writing this post is, I have received many requests asking if the product is worth the cost? I can’t tell you since I don’t own the 7 figure code. What can be said without a doubt is the people who have purchased were more than happy with the product. (The previous is my personal observation from reading the testimonials provided.)
If you would like see for yourself, here is the link; The 7 Figure Code That’s Mikes direct link with no affiliate involved. Since I am not actively promoting, the link is from Mike himself.
If you should optin to this promotion, please come back and tell us your opinions. This includes the whole process from sign up all the way to receipt of the product as well as your thoughts on the product itself!
We await your thoughts!

You know that crap you receive inside your email box? The ones with the unsubscribe links? You know, the ones you really don’t want to get at all?
How many have you gotten? What do you do with them? DON’T UNSUBSCRIBE!
Why not you ask…It’s simple really, if you unsubscribe you have told the spammer that your email is a good address and someone looks at the email. Spammers only care about someone reading. The more good emails they have, the better their promotion….
Not unlike our own, just WRONG!!
Don’t ever use the unsubscribe link from an email you don’t know. If you know the sender and wish to unsub, that is different. Never from a link you don’t know the sender.

Now I’m laughing at this whole FTC thingy…
It seems that all of a sudden there are a “great many gooroos or gurus” which find the need to “sell”something before tomorrow, December 1st!
I ask myself one question, WHY!
Selling this “stuff” day in and day out was all good for the pocket, WHY NOW?
Does this mean we have been mislead by these marketers? Does it mean that those “testimonials” they so adoringly post are not absolute truths? Does it mean that we may have been conned into thinking these GREAT programs actually work and will allow us to earn?
Why is it the New FTC Law seems to have invocted so many marketers to change their daily practices?
Caveat Emptor is now a thing of the past on the internet. Let the Buyer Beware no longer means you need to figure out what the product can do for you but, rather, it must be disclosed before you purchase. I like that idea myself and can be pretty sure you do also unless you are one of those which finds the need to remove your site by tomorrow!
Tomorrow is a BIG day for many but, it’s very insubstantial for more of us. We are the people who sell what we sell unabashadly, have no concerns that what we sell can be taken in a context other than what is stated. The procuct(s) we sell do EXACTLY what has been claimed. No more and no less!
If you sell affiliate products you may fall into a different catagory…
- Have you tested the product?
- Did it perform as stated?
- Did you make any indisputable claims?
The above is something which will be a near future post. In the mean time, please leave your thoughts on this whole FTC thingy!

I was waiting for a response to a question before adding this post but, not yet receiving the permission requested for the images, I decided to post this link instead.
Rich Cleland of the FTC
Jim Edwards has done a FANTASTIC interview with Mr. Cleland about the new FTC rules about to go effective on December 1st. I watched the complete video and must say there is MUCH enlightenment contained within! I you have some time, (a few hours to watch the entirety) it’s very much a MUST WATCH!
Jim asked the questions you and I want answered most as marketers or affiliates. Mr. Edwards answered them with straight forward answers as the FTC views the new rules! Believe me, it’s a complete what to do and what not to do 1 on 1 session which I cannot rate high enough!
Did I tell you it doesn’t cost you anything? Not even your email address! Go watch and let me know your thoughts. You won’t ever beat this inside info no matter what you may pay!
Rich Cleland of the FTC
God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate!
