Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas?

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

During this runup to Christmas, I have received way too many emails with
“Happy Holidays” in the subject or within the content of the email.

After writing back to the sender asking why they did this, all said “to be politicaly correct.
I want to ask you this question, What does celebrating the birth of Christ have to do with
politics? Those who believe in a God are the majority. Why “cater” to the minority?

If you are writing the email you want it to be comming from YOU! If you believe in God, SAY SO! I’m not saying you should push your beliefs on anyone, that would be wrong. What I’m saying is to be yourself and not “hide” behind something you do not believe!! Remember, your email is to tell your subscribers who you are and NOT who you think they want you to be!!

I just read this FANTASTIC post by Joel Comm on the subject of Christmas. Here is an excerpt from the post at Joels Top Ten Christmas Favorites;

#6 – Saying “Merry Christmas” to people

Happy Holidays. Pffft. How lame.

Being Jewish, I’ve nothing against Hanukkah. The Festival of Lights is a real celebration of a genuine miracle. Admittedly, I know nothing about Kwanzaa, but I’m sure it is significant to those who celebrate it.

But Christmas is Christmas. We all know why we decorate and have parties this time of year. We know why we buy lots of presents and tell stories of snowmen, reindeer and a fat guy who invades our homes via the chimney. So why the political correctness?

It’s because of the very vocal minority who claim to be “offended” by Christmas. They have influenced political leaders and corporations to make changes in policy so as to keep the peace amongst those who don’t believe as the majority do.

I won’t wish anyone a Happy Holidays. If it’s Hanukkah, I’ll wish those people a Happy Hanukkah. If I meet someone who celebrates Kwanzaa, I’ll give them a Festive Kwanzaa (or whatever it is they say).

But if it is Christmas, you are going to get a MERRY CHRISTMAS from me.

I will not minimize the holiday by calling it by another name. And even when they desperately try to dumb it down by making it more about the fictional Santa Claus character and less about the baby Jesus, I’ll still say Merry Christmas and know that no human being on the face of the earth can ever steal away it’s meaning with phrases, commercialism or political correctness. :-)

I think you will like reading the entire post by Joel.

Wishing you all a Wonderful Christmas!
If you don’t celebrate Christmas then I wish you all the best
for whatever you celebrate this time of year!

Although you have not left comments, I see by my stats you have
at least visited my blog. To me, that’s a FANTASTIC gift. The best
you could possibly have given me!!

May peace be with you and God’s blessings through out the New Year.
No matter what you do online, may the New Year be plentiful and prosperous!

God Bless you all.

I have NEVER attempted something like this before. I always thought it made no sense or I never had the time to get involved. BOY was I wrong!!

If you are looking for a way to increase your list, and you KNOW you need to, this is one of the BEST ways to do so.

Get one of those PLR copies sitting on you hard-drive and turn it into a list-building-machine! How you may ask? Take some time and rewrite it. Create a new image. Give it away on one of these sites I’m about to show you.

David Canham and I are friends. Even more, we a are partners on a new script being created. (More on that in the Future.)

I am unable to say that Bill McRea and I even know each other. I receive his emails etc but, I can’t say I know the dude…

With all that out there for you, you really need to take a look at this for yourself.

Here’s whats going on with this,

Bill McRea and David Canham are looking for JV Partners that are interested in growing their list and making some money along the way.

Last year Bill and David teamed up for The Thanksgiving Giveaway and it turned out to be one of the largest list building events of 2008.

So do not miss out this year! Now is the time to act and start recruiting JV partners, make some money and grow your list.
